  1. Make DragonBox Elements available for PC (Windows, Mac, Linux)

The geometry game DragonBox Elements is currently only available on mobile devices (Apple App Store, Google Play Store, Amazon Appstore).

It could be made available for PC devices as well, i.e. Windows, Mac and Linux.

Please vote on this idea if you'd like to support this request and be notified about relevant updates.

DragonBox Elements for Mac computers will be out in a few days, available for purchase through the Mac App Store.

Update (09/09/14): the game was rejected by the Mac Store because of a change in Apple requirements. We’re working with our platform provider to try solve the issue.

  2. Don't fully guide the user for unbalanced equations

    (by Robert by email)

Have you considering having a setting where the player is not guided so fully as to how to rebalance the equation? Maybe some visual sign that it is unbalanced and then the player has to decide where to put objects to rebalance it before they can proceed? I suspect that players may end up not really thinking about the steps necessary to balance - they just stick the object in the places that are highlighted by the game.

  3. Randomize / auto-generation of new levels

    (sent by Robin, by email)

DragonBox is great. It's far too short for my purposes, though! Adding another 100 levels, which is what DragonBox+ seems to be, wouldn't really help. Because of the way I learn, I want a lot more practice than that.

I would *love* it if you made a version that could just
programmatically generate an unlimited number of puzzles. Like, I
could go to a particular puzzle and say "more like that", and it
would stay at the same difficulty until I said otherwise and just
keep making more of them. I would *absolutely* pay for…

  4. DragonBox for College Students

I would like to see an app made for college students that provides essential skills in higher level math (e.g. trigonometry, calculus, statistics, etc.)

  5. Add support from Chromebook

Our school is looking into replacing our expensive and hard to manage laptops with Chromebooks. App availability is somewhat spotty, though, and I see DragonBox as the main headline app, so it would be great to have it available. (Or better yet, an HTML5 version so we don't have to worry quite so much about platform.)

  6. Build a calculus app

I think your team has nailed it with a great approach to learning. I look forward to using the 12+ version to keep improving my skills. I cannot thank you enough for making algebra easier to learn. I survived basic chemistry from being able to fall back onto my algebra skills and rearrange formulas to solve questions. It was easier to learn algebra than to try and remember which chemist or physicist came up with e.g. a certain gas law.

When you get time to build a calculus app - that will be my next maths course at University.

  9. Extend Dragonbox to more advanced algebra and extend elements to more advanced geometry

It should be relatively easy to extend dragonbox on through Algebra and Algebra II and elements through advanced geometry and it would be extremely helpful! The pricing could even be increased by a greater than linear proportion.

Any plans for this and/or timeframe?

  14. release a version for geometry or trigonometry, or open up an API for customization

I find that this approach for algebra really speaks to my kids, much more than manipulatives. As I have gone through it with them, I found myself thinking that I'd love to see this for geometry and/or trigonometry or even math logic, like complex boolean algebra expressions. Your platform is genius. Have you ever considered opening up some as an API for people to add their own problems to?

  17. Sync progress between devices

I have Numbers installed on two devices, and have logged in using the same DragonBox login on both devices.

I still had to create each user on both devices, and there are no sync of user progress. Is this expected behavior? I find it very annoying.

Otherwise a good app. I'll rate it 5 if this is fixed.

  18. Sandbox

My 5 year old just finished your app and loved it. It would be wonderful to have a sandbox once the levels are finished where you can create your own equations and then solve them. It would greatly increase the educational value of your fabulous app.
